Ces valeurs d\u00e9finissent la plage de fonctionnement du fluide : les applications pratiques se situent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement entre -30 \u00b0C (\u00e9vaporation en froid n\u00e9gatif) et +55 \u00b0C (condensation par temps chaud). La limite d&rsquo;exposition professionnelle (OEL) est fix\u00e9e \u00e0 1 000 ppm sur 8 heures de travail (TWA). C&rsquo;est l&rsquo;une des raisons pour lesquelles ce fluide a domin\u00e9 le march\u00e9 pendant trois d\u00e9cennies : aucun risque d&rsquo;incendie, aucune pr\u00e9caution li\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;inflammabilit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cela ne signifie pas qu&rsquo;on peut le manipuler sans protection. Quelques risques concrets existent sur le terrain :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Gelures :<\/strong> le R-134a bout \u00e0 -26,1 \u00b0C. Un jet de liquide sur la peau provoque des br\u00fblures par le froid en quelques secondes. Portez toujours des gants isolants et des lunettes de protection. <strong>Asphyxie :<\/strong> en espace confin\u00e9 (local technique, fosse), le R-134a est plus lourd que l&rsquo;air (densit\u00e9 vapeur ~4,2 par rapport \u00e0 l&rsquo;air) et peut d\u00e9placer l&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne. Ventilez avant d&rsquo;intervenir. <strong>D\u00e9composition thermique :<\/strong> au contact d&rsquo;une flamme nue ou d&rsquo;une surface au-dessus de 250 \u00b0C, le R-134a se d\u00e9compose en acide fluorhydrique (HF), un gaz extr\u00eamement irritant. Ne fumez jamais en pr\u00e9sence de fuites.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!-- [PERSONAL EXPERIENCE] --><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En pratique, le stockage ne pose pas de difficult\u00e9 particuli\u00e8re. Gardez les bouteilles debout, dans un endroit sec, \u00e0 l&rsquo;abri du soleil direct et en dessous de 50 \u00b0C. D&rsquo;apr\u00e8s les retours terrain, les incidents les plus fr\u00e9quents restent les gelures lors de raccordements rapides sans gants, pas les situations critiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"huile-pag-poe\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quelle huile utiliser avec le R-134a : PAG ou POE ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le R-134a n&rsquo;est pas miscible avec les huiles min\u00e9rales traditionnelles utilis\u00e9es avec le R-12, ce qui oblige \u00e0 choisir un lubrifiant synth\u00e9tique adapt\u00e9. Deux familles dominent : la PAG (polyalkyl\u00e8ne glycol) pour l&rsquo;automobile et la POE (polyol ester) pour le froid stationnaire.
